But first I want to make I want to say some things about two popular OS's which most of you guys are probably using right now as you are reading this blog.
If you are a Windows user, it is hard to come by any good quality free software nowadays. But even the products that you have to pay for have glitches and bugs that need fixing and so requires the need for constant upgrades that never seem to end. You'd also have to pay an awful lot of money for programs and upgrades that would eventually be torn up by the same amount of money in viruses. You really have to ask yourself. Why am I "annually" paying a lot of my hard earned cash for a product that isn't perfect? Take Vista for example. The Mac vs. PC ads is enough to support this argument. Windows makers always say that their next OS will overcome the shortcomings of the previous OS. I do not really have a grudge on Windows. In fact, I use XP and I'd like to admit that I am somehow impressed by Windows 7. But I was one of those people who used Vista and was pissed for I had to switch back to Windows XP because of the hardware and software compatability issues and it left a deep scar of my fondness of the Windows OS.
If you are a Mac user, then I really envy you. I've only experienced its OS through one of my housemates whom I also envy alot. It's really the epitome of the "user" interface. It caters to what the user really needs, it has no viruses, and is really for the student/creative/youth user such as me, unlike Windows which is mainly for business and professional use. The Leopard OS may be good but it's not that good for its hefty price tag which I am not able to afford, yet. Still, what makes Mac desktops and laptops so popular is that they can support both the Mac and Windows OS and they just look so cool. I want a Mac but it's just to expensive and most of the games I play still don't support the Mac OS and have to be ported first before I can play which can involve illegal tampering of software which is illegal and could cause game crashes, of which I really am not fond of.
Now if you want something different altogether yet still has somewhat the same features as the two OS's i mentioned above then I'd suggest you use Ubuntu which is one of Linux's better OS. And did I mention It was free?
Yes its FREE.
Imagine not having to pay for anything but the electricity consumed by your computer. Ubuntu has everything in it. It has everything you need if not more to complete the experience of having an OS. If you are stuck and frustrated with paint and have no money to buy adobe photoshop, then Ubuntu has GIMP which has the same features as photoshop but totally free. If you are a professional then you'd love Ubuntu's Open Office which supports a lot of file formats including Microsoft Office files and more. Ubuntu also makes use of one of the most popular web browsers in existence which is Firefox which in my opinion is a lot better than Internet Explorer with its viruses, worms and such. Oh! And I almost forgot, Ubuntu is virus free just like your Mac OS! So whenever you browse the web with your oh so fast browser Firefox or download a file, you wouldn't have to worry if malicious software will infect your computer since it can't and it won't.
So if you are interested just refer to this site here:

Its virus free, and you won't regret it.
